Lene about her craft
Green. Yellow. Dark grey. Azure. Burnt orange.
Wineglasses. Bowls. Vases. Creatures from the animal kingdom.
I love working with glass and colours. I forget the time and everything else when I shape the burning hot soft material giving it a firm form. I often find myself working overtime without noticing – being tempted to create just another special item with its own colour and form.
Since ten thousand years the art of blowing glass has been a noble craft throughout the world. People of the southern Persia were the first to produce glass, glazing their potteries with melted glass. Today in my glasshouse, I try to give the old art form a new life with functional and colourful creations for the kitchen and the living room. I love to watch my customer’s amazed faces when they gaze at the creative process.
The furnace is heated up to 1130 degrees Celsius. Or 2066 degrees Fahrenheit. I never have a problem keeping warm while I’m working.
Come and visit me and watch how I shape the glass. The door is always open during business hours.
